We Americans are now witnessing the end of a period. Our legacy will have to be found again sometime in the future. For now I see many of the older, well built, machines being traded for new machines. The new machines are dying at a much more rapid rate than machines that are as much as ten years old.

It is sad to think that so many people don’t realize the value of these older machines! As they are scrapped for metal and they end up in the land fills, we will never get them back again.

Major appliance manufacturers are making replacement parts obsolete for machines ten years old or more. In a few instances I have seen parts no longer available on machines less than ten years old.
