Many do-it-yourself homeowers use venting kits made of vinyl or flexible foil because they are so easy to install and they appear to serve the purpose.

Most people are not aware that  these systems are sold in hardware stores; yet not safe to use,  “These systems are designed for use with bathroom exhaust fans. They are not designed to withstand the heat from a clothes dryer.”
